Amplifi’s core offering is based on providing full consultancy services for business who wish to make claims against government incentives – namely the Research and Development Tax Credit Incentive.
Central to how the business operates is the technical team. These individuals have backgrounds in some of the key sectors in which Amplifi operates, including mechanical, electrical, pharmaceutical and software engineering.
The Role
Amplifi has seen a rapid increase in tech clients, which has arisen from extraordinary growth in the sector, and we are looking to expand our software technical writers to meet this new growth.

Key Duties
- Meeting with clients (in-person or virtual) to fully comprehend qualifying R&D projects and to provide suggestions as to where key areas of qualification lie.
- Meeting with clients (in-person or virtual) to fully comprehend qualifying R&D projects and to provide suggestions as to where key areas of qualification lie.
- Writing up these projects in a way that fit to HMRC’s qualification criteria.
- Liaising between the client and Amplifi’s delivery and commercial teams where feedback is required.
- Regular use of Amplifi’s project management software platform, ensuring that notes are timely and accurate.
- Documenting the project work undertaken in line with the R&D guidelines. Training is provided.Writing up these projects in a way that fit to HMRC’s qualification criteria.
- Liaising between the client and Amplifi’s delivery and commercial teams where feedback is required.
- Regular use of Amplifi’s project management software platform, ensuring that notes are timely and accurate.
- Documenting the project work undertaken in line with the R&D guidelines. Training is provided.
Essential Criteria
The ideal candidate should be able to display:
- An engaging manner with a passion for all things tech.
- Demonstrable understanding of software development and its application and integration in R&D.
- Comfort in collaborating with a wider team, including internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in articulating complicated ideas and projects for non-technical individuals.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Criteria
The following criteria would be desirable but not essential:
- An existing understanding of HMRC’s R&D Tax Credit Incentive.
- A higher-level qualification in a STEM subject, ideally ICT or Mathematics.
- 2-4 years industry experience (ideally as a technical writer).
Package
- A base salary ranging from £30,000 – £45,000, depending on experience and location.
